The Wake Up Foundation carries out missions of compassion and prayer — meeting real needs with a steady, caring presence. One foundation, many ways to serve.
The Wake Up Foundation exists to bring light where there is darkness — through practical, prayerful service to those who are hurting, overlooked, or alone. Rather than doing one thing, we build focused missions, each meeting a specific need in the community, all under one trusted roof.
Every mission shares the same heart: show up faithfully, serve with compassion, and let no one carry their burden alone. Our service has already reached from families here at home to communities in Cameroon, West Africa — and it's only beginning.
We grow one mission at a time, so each is done with care. Here's where we're beginning — with more to come.
Companionship and prayer for the grieving, the isolated, the sick, and the homebound — a caring presence for families walking through hard seasons.

Get updates →Before Abide, our hearts were already at work — overseas and here at home. During the [2024] Christmas season we served our home community in Cameroon, West Africa, stood beside a grieving family there, and reached out to lift up others walking the same road.
We shared rice, Maggi, tomatoes, and other staples with families in need, so the season of giving reached their tables too.
When a family faced the weight of a burial they couldn't carry alone, we helped shoulder it — the same compassion that now shapes Abide.
We gave a $1,000 gift to another U.S. nonprofit to strengthen their cause — because good multiplies when we lift one another up.
This is the ground Abide grows from — the same heart, now serving families closer to home.
To abide is to stay. When someone is grieving or alone, the most healing thing in the world is a person who simply keeps showing up. That is what Abide offers — steady companionship and prayer, for as long as it's needed.
For twelve years, our family cared for our beloved father in our home. In his final season, God sent us a caregiver who was more than skilled — she was prayerful, present, and full of grace.
Her companionship changed everything. She reminded us that the deepest comfort isn't a task performed, but a person who stays — who sits, listens, and prays.
When our dad passed, we knew his legacy shouldn't end with us. So many families are walking the same road with no one beside them. Abide is how we keep that gift moving outward — offering other families the very presence that so blessed ours.
A trained companion is matched to one person and visits on a regular rhythm — listening, spending time, and being a faithful friend.
At each person's invitation and following their lead, our companions pray with and for them — plus a weekly online prayer time and a prayer-request line open to anyone.
For the homebound and the far-away, we connect by phone and video — so distance is never a reason for anyone to feel forgotten.
Companionship and prayer — not medical or personal care. Abide offers presence and encouragement, and connects families to licensed help when it's needed. This lets us begin serving right away, wherever the need is greatest.
Someone asks for support — for themselves or a loved one — through us, a church, hospice, or a friend. We listen and learn what would help most.
A trained, background-checked companion is thoughtfully paired with the person, and they meet for a gentle introduction.
Visits and calls settle into a steady rhythm. Week by week, someone is simply there — and no one walks the road alone.
Donations let us match, train, and support the companions who carry this out. Here's what your giving makes possible.
Keeps our prayer line and online follow-up reaching people who ask for prayer.
Sustains a full month of weekly companionship visits to one grieving or isolated person.
Supports a companion serving several people across a month.
Trains and background-checks a new companion, readying them to serve.
Amounts are examples — a gift of any size, one-time or monthly, goes straight to reaching more families. You can designate your gift to Abide specifically.
If you have a caring heart and a little time, we'll train and support you to walk alongside someone who needs a friend.
